Dubai: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan’s forces have always played a role in controlling internal disturbances.
In an interview given to Khaleej newspaper, the Chief of Army Staff said that Pakistan’s forces maintained a balance on world politics through military diplomacy.
The army chief said that the apolitical nature of the army was targeted by some people. De-politicization of the army will promote democratic values. He said that the army will remain steadfast in its decision to remain apolitical despite propaganda and false narratives.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa further said in the interview that the non-political nature of the army will promote political stability in Pakistan. By being non-political, state institutions will be effective in carrying out their affairs. Interference in political affairs destroys popular support and commitment between forces.
In the interview, the army chief further said that the Pakistan Army has earned the unprecedented respect and trust of the Pakistani nation. The constructive role of the military in national security and development has always enjoyed unwavering popular support.
He said that we have brotherly relations with other countries of the Gulf and Middle East. We have cordial relations with the Arab states. We are grateful for the generous and unconditional support of the Arab countries in difficult times. Pakistan has always supported the protection of the interests of the Middle East countries and will continue to do so in the future.
The Army Chief said that the purpose of Operation Radal al-Fasaad was to eliminate terrorists and extremist groups. We have achieved success against terrorists and their facilitators. It is an honor to serve and lead one of the world’s finest military forces in the most difficult of times. 4 decades have seen Pakistan Army as a continuously evolving force.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that we have aligned ourselves with modern requirements by making best use of limited resources. In the future, I see the Pakistan Army as an integrated and modern force. No nation is safe only because of defense force. We cannot succeed without youth, our youth generation is 60% of the total population.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa further said that armed forces are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the motherland. The armed forces of Pakistan derive their strength and support from the nation. Young generation devote their time and energy to education and skills. Honesty and selfless work is the foundation of a progressive society. Youth should protect themselves from divisive propaganda.
