The multi-trillion-dollar for upgrading nuclear weapons.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman told a news conference that the United States not only has the largest and most advanced arsenal of nuclear weapons, but has invested several trillion dollars in upgrading its nuclear weapons.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Tuesday that Beijing was strongly opposed to US action in China. “China has always been a guardian of world peace and has played a role in global development, and is committed to maintaining international order and serving the public interest.”
“China undoubtedly pursues its own national defense policy, which is also of a defensive nature, as well as its core nuclear strategy, and always maintains its nuclear force at the lowest level required to protect national security,” he said.
China will not enter the nuclear race
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman added: “China will never enter into a nuclear rivalry with any country, and China’s only goal in developing the necessary military capabilities is to protect its legitimate security interests.”
China’s military capabilities are not a threat to any country
“Strengthening China’s growth is a force for world peace,” Wang Wenbin added. “No country will be threatened by China’s national defense capabilities, as long as there is no intention to threaten or undermine China’s national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.”
“Not only does the United States have the world’s largest and most advanced nuclear arsenal, but it has invested trillions of dollars in upgrading its nuclear weapons,” he added.
