Why did Islamic Jihad not participate in the meeting in Cairo?
According to Palestine Al-Youm, Mohammad Al-Hindi, the deputy secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, explained the reasons for the non-participation of the Islamic Jihad in the meeting of the leaders of the Palestinian groups in Cairo.
Referring to the reason for the boycott of this meeting by the Islamic Jihad, Al-Handi said: Due to the continuation of political arrests in the West Bank and the persecution of resistance fighters in this region, we decided to boycott the meeting in Cairo.
Regarding the view of the Islamic Jihad movement regarding the possible results of this meeting, he stated: The Islamic Jihad movement will welcome any result that strengthens the resistance and stability of our nation.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement stated that since the establishment of the self-governing organization, there have been tremendous changes in the functioning of this organization, the self-governing organization does not want to see these changes and is walking in the path of dead end for which no political horizon can be imagined.
Referring to the continuation of the arrest of some Palestinians by the Palestinian Authority despite the release of their release, he added: the security services of the Palestinian Authority pursue and arrest the elements of the resistance, how can these services convince the Palestinian people that the resistance does not target.
Al-Handi continued: We do not want the self-governing organization to continue this vicious circle, especially regarding adherence to security cooperation with the Zionist regime, and we do not understand this issue either.
