Biden: America is not looking for conflict with China.
According to Russia Today, US President Joe Biden said that the country is not looking for a conflict with China.
According to this report, Joe Biden said in a conversation with PBS on Wednesday: We are looking for an all-out competition with China, but we do not want a conflict with this country, and this situation has continued until now.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden had previously said that the downing of the Chinese balloon by the US military will not harm relations between Washington and Beijing.
The White House has accused China of sending spy balloons to five continents and violating the sovereignty of countries.
At the same time, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said that Beijing has no fear of competition with the United States, but concluded that healthy relations are in the interest of both China and the United States.
Mao Ning added: China has not avoided competition or is not afraid of it, but we are against using the concept of competition to define all China-US relations.
He added: A healthy and stable relationship between the United States and China is for the benefit of the people of both countries, and in addition, it is the common expectation of the international community.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that Beijing will establish relations with Washington in accordance with the mutually accepted principles of peaceful coexistence and beneficial interaction, while protecting its sovereignty, security and development interests.
Following Washington’s decision to shoot down a balloon that Beijing claimed had changed course due to wind and entered American airspace, China’s Foreign Ministry announced that this decision has severely overshadowed the relationship between the two countries.
Protesting against this action, Beijing announced that the balloon was a civilian and accidentally entered the American airspace due to the wind, and on Sunday, it submitted its official complaint to the American Embassy in China.
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Shi Feng wrote in this complaint: “The actions of the United States have severely overshadowed and damaged the efforts and progress of the parties in order to stabilize China-US relations after the Bali Summit.”
On Saturday evening, American media reported that the country’s army shot down a Chinese balloon off the coast of Carolina. American Defense Minister Lloyd Austin claimed that the Chinese balloon that was shot down was used for spying and monitoring American strategic centers!
