Baghdad: Expansion goals are behind Turkey’s aggression.
Referring to the country’s complaint to the Security Council about Turkey’s aggression, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry emphasized that Turkey has been asked to apologize to Iraq.
Ahmed Al-Sahaf, the spokesman of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, emphasized that the country’s complaint sent to the Security Council includes 22,700 cases of violation of commitments and aggressions by Turkey, with the names of recent victims attached.
He added that there are expansionist goals behind these Turkish aggressions.
Al-Sahaf clarified that Iraq’s letter to the Security Council included issues such as the number of violations of commitments and aggressions by Turkey since 2018, which were mentioned in this letter to more than 22,740 cases.
He said that in this letter, while referring to the nature of the dangers of Turkey’s recent aggression against the cities and residential areas of Iraq, the names of the dead and wounded of the recent aggression have also been mentioned.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (WAA), Al-Sahaf stated that Turkey pursues developmental goals behind these aggressions and that there is no security and military agreement with the Turkish side.
He also said that in this letter, the Turkish side was asked to apologize to Iraq and its nation for the damage caused to its infrastructure.
Al-Sahaf predicted that the Security Council would issue a statement condemning Turkey’s encroachment on Iraq’s sovereignty.
