Services were affected in Pakistan at half past midnight
Instagram, Facebook and Messenger services in different countries of the world including Pakistan were suddenly affected on the night of April 9.
On the night of April 9, at around 2.30 pm local time in Pakistan, users from all over the world, including Pakistan, turned to the social networking site Twitter due to lack of access to Facebook, Messenger and Instagram services.
Shortly after that, hashtags ‘InstagramDown’ and ‘FacebookDown’ were trending on Twitter in different countries of the world including Pakistan.
In addition, there were complaints from users about difficulties in accessing the Messenger app.
Users initially said it was difficult to load photos or upload posts, and later failed to access the Facebook app and desktop version.
Initially, Facebook did not comment on whether all three of its services were affected.
However, within minutes of downloading the detector, thousands of people were affected by Instagram, Facebook and Messenger services.
One by one, DownDetector tweeted about difficulties in accessing Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp services.
Keep in mind that all of these apps are owned by the Facebook company and their technology is shared.
DownDetector’s tweet said that Instagram services were affected at 5:28 pm (2:28 pm Pakistan time) according to Eastern Daylight Time (ETD).
Later, another tweet said that according to ETD, Facebook services were affected at 5:31 pm, ie at 2:31 pm in Pakistan.
The Down Detector added that according to the ETD, reports of difficulties in accessing Facebook Messenger services were received at 5:35 pm, ie 2:35 pm Pakistan time.
Later, Down Detector also received reports that WhatsApp services were affected at 5:38 pm ETD (2:38 pm Pakistani time).
While the services were affected, users were seeing an error message on Facebook.
According to The Verge, most users had Facebook and Instagram services restored after 6pm ETD (3pm Pakistan local time).
Later, Facebook tweeted from its official Twitter account that the services had been affected and were being restored.

“Earlier, due to a change in configuration, the provision of Facebook services to some people was suspended,” the tweet said.
“Since then, we’ve quickly identified the problem and fixed it,” Facebook added.
On the other hand, Instagram also said in tweets that the service was affected and later restored.
The tweet said, ‘Is your Instagram down? We know that some people are having a hard time right now, we are working on it and everything will be fine as soon as possible.
Later, another tweet mentioned the restoration of the Instagram service.
It is believed that Facebook and Messenger services have been affected for the second time in a month while Instagram services have been affected for the third time.
On March 19, the services of WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger were affected in different countries of the world including Pakistan.
After that, on March 30, Facebook’s photo sharing app Instagram service was affected for the second time in different parts of the world, including Pakistan.
Keep in mind that Facebook’s platforms have been affected several times in recent years, and since all three platforms are owned by the same company, the service’s impact has affected a large number of users around the world.
