California:
NASA is preparing to save the Earth from destruction . NASA has prepared an experiment to save the Earth from the possibility of extinction in the near future, under which a spacecraft will collide with an asteroid. The mission flew from California for this purpose.
The DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) was blasted Tuesday from Wendenberg Space Force Base on a SpaceX rocket from the US state of California. And the two of them revolve around the sun together.
The speed of the dimorphs will be adjusted for the said experiment. The effect will be felt in the fall of 2022 when the asteroid system will be approximately 6.8 million miles closer to the planet. This is the shortest distance between the asteroid system and the planet.
“We want to know (from this experiment) how to reduce the risk,” said Thomas Zabarchan, a NASA scientist and expert on the first of its kind, a 33 330 million project. However, they are counted among the bodies in space known as objects close to the Earth.
NASA’s Coordination Office is interested in having information on the bodies that have the potential to wipe out an entire city or region. They contain many times more material than the average energy of atomic bombs. There are about 10,000 asteroids in space that fall into the category of near-Earth objects. However, none of them have the potential to hit the ground in the next 100 years.
Scientists believe that there are still 15,000 more objects that are yet to be discovered. However, models are not as useful as real life experiences.
