Special Representative of the Prime Minister Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said that Sialkot incident was against Islamic traditions. He requested Chief Justice of Pakistan to conduct speedy trial of Sialkot tragedy. We are also going to launch Awareness campaign among the people to promote tolerance.
According to details, addressing the inter-faith harmony seminar, Tahir Ashrafi said that Sialkot incident was against Islamic traditions, Islam is a religion of complete peace and reconciliation. “There is no place for forced marriage in Islam. Islam is against forced marriage. Forced conversion is not acceptable. Forced conversion is against Islam. We are launching an awareness campaign to create awareness of tolerance among the people.
On the other hand, other dignitaries also addressed the seminar. On this occasion, the special guest Minister for Minority Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine said that human rights organizations should also look into the violation of human rights in neighboring India where human rights have been trampled underfoot for the last two months.
