Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif sought suggestions for free supply of medicines in Punjab hospitals. According to details, an emergency meeting was held at his residence in Model Town Lahore under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Sources said that the meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Afzal, former provincial health minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and other officials. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister directed to provide free treatment to the poor at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Hospital. On the other hand, Federal Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel promised to reduce the cost of life-saving medicines. Guidance will be sought from the Cabinet and the Prime Minister for reduction of prices. Health is a sector on which taxes should be kept to a minimum. The government will make efforts to provide cheap and quality treatment to the poor. Will be accessible to the public.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel paid a surprise visit to PIMS Hospital and inspected the facilities provided to the patients there. He also paid a detailed visit to all the wards of the hospital including the emergency ward. The Minister briefed the Minister about the facilities provided to the patients. On this occasion, Abdul Qadir Patel directed the hospital management to ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the patients, it is our religious and moral duty to serve the suffering humanity, all doctors and paramedical staff should work hard, diligently and passionately It will ensure comprehensive measures for the betterment of the social sector and the people.
