PTI Chairman Imran Khan filed a bail application in a case registered under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, Imran Khan appeared before the Special Judge Central Court.
The court ordered Imran Khan to submit a surety bond of Rs 1 lac.
The court directed that whether the court has jurisdiction or not, give arguments at the next hearing. Lawyer Imran Khan said that the issue of jurisdiction is still there, we have joined the investigation.
Judge Raja Asif Mehmood remarked that some provisions in the FIR come under our jurisdiction and some provisions do not come under our jurisdiction.
The judge remarked that if the provisions of the case are imposed because of a government servant, then we have authority and if not because of a government servant, then we do not have authority.
It was contended in the petition that the FIA has misused its powers and registered the case in haste, the case was registered on the basis of the Election Commission report which has been challenged in the High Court while the Election Commission report is against the facts. And biased.
According to the petitioner, there is a hidden agenda of political opponents behind filing the case against Imran Khan, FIA filed the case for defaming the head of a major political party which is malicious.
In the petition, it was requested that pre-arrest bail be granted in the case registered by FIA on October 6, while interim bail be granted till confirmation of pre-arrest bail.
