Sana’a released 77 captive mercenaries in a humanitarian act.
Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement released 77 mercenary captives supported by the aggressor Arab coalition in a humanitarian project on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr by the order of “Abdul Malik Houthi”, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah.
Yemen’s “Ansarullah” news website wrote on Thursday that “Abdul Qadir al-Mortaza”, the head of the prisoners’ affairs committee in Ansarallah, announced that 77 prisoners were taken in a humanitarian and one-sided project on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in honor of the execution of the orders of the leader of Ansarallah and with the presence of The International Committee of the Red Cross were released.
The Yemeni prisoners affairs committee emphasized that this humanitarian initiative included dozens of sick and elderly prisoners.
He added: “The unilateral release of dozens of captives from the other side is an effort in order to prepare the ground for future negotiations regarding the exchange of prisoners.”
It should be noted that according to the agreement reached between the “Yemen Presidential Council” (affiliated to the Saudi coalition) and Sana’a, the National Salvation Government of Yemen is supposed to release 181 prisoners, including some Saudi and Sudanese nationals, in exchange for the release of 706 Yemeni prisoners.
“Majed Fadael”, the spokesman of the Yemeni Presidential Council, announced earlier that following the implementation of this prisoner exchange operation, another operation will be carried out soon so that all prisoners are freed and all detention centers and prisons are evacuated.
On the other hand, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Foreign Minister of Yemen’s Presidential Council, which is affiliated with Riyadh, said earlier this week that direct negotiations are underway between Riyadh and the National Salvation Government of Yemen to restore the ceasefire.
