“Ziad al-Nakhala,” the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, stressed that reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas was not possible, and described all actions and mediations in this regard as futile, Tasnim news agency reported.
Al-Nakhala stressed in a press statement yesterday that any compromise with the occupying Zionist regime is also impossible and that the establishment of a Palestinian state can only be achieved by changing the balance of power through resistance.
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement said that reconciliation was not possible and that any mediation in this regard was a waste of time; Because it is not possible to combine two different programs, one of which accepts the resistance and the other rejects it.
He stated that it is true that the differences in the Palestinian scene are differences over plans and political perspectives; But these differences enter the field. There is now a futile effort to achieve reconciliation, and there is a lot of political debate in this case.
“We are talking about our plans and visions and how to manage our conflict with the Zionist project,” al-Nakhala said. But now we are faced with two contradictory projects on which there is no agreement between the Hamas movement and Fatah.
Ziad al-Nakhala said that the definition of Fatah and Hamas is different from that of the Zionist regime and that both sides have conflicting views on the regime, adding that any compromise with the occupying regime is impossible. Since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian Authority, the Islamic Jihad movement has predicted that this path will fail and that the Palestinians will reach this state without establishing their own government.
The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement stated that anyone who raises the issue of settlement and compromise with the occupying Zionist regime has not understood the nature of the Zionist project and any political program that ignores the rights of the Palestinian people is worthless.
He added that if the other side accepts that the Palestinians have a right, then we can talk about the possibility of a compromise or not, and whether we will accept the proposed solution or not.
The Palestinian official stressed that when we present a political program based on peace with the Zionist regime, it means that we have recognized the enemy; While the Palestinian project is based on the liberation of this land as a country that has been occupied for years and any party that has proposed the idea of compromise with the enemy does not understand the Zionist project.
He added that we must re-read the Zionist project against Palestine. The project is based on the rule that Palestine is Israel and that Jerusalem is its capital. This is while we differ in the nature of this ideology and this land and the same history with the enemy.
