Zelensky’s full suitcase on the European tour; France gives tanks to Kiev.
According to Al Jazeera, in the midst of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and the escalation of tensions, France announced that it will supply more weapons to Kiev, including light and armored tanks, following the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the country.
Zelensky left Berlin for Paris last night (Sunday) and attended a dinner at the Elysee Palace with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Al-Jazeera wrote that after three hours of consultation, the leaders of the two countries announced in a joint statement that “in the coming weeks, France will train and equip several Ukrainian divisions with dozens of armored vehicles and light tanks, including the AMX-10RC.” It is said that these tanks move quickly on the battlefield and have high power to change positions.
Zelensky’s trip to Paris is part of his European tour. On the eve of the Kiev army’s spring counteroffensive, which has long become a hot topic in the media and which the West has been waiting for for a long time, the president of Ukraine has started this tour with the aim of asking for more military aid.
Yesterday, after receiving a $3 billion military package from Berlin, he said that with the power of Kiev and its allies, Russia’s defeat this year will be “inevitable”.
Macron also emphasized in France that Paris will continue to support Kyiv with political, financial, humanitarian and military assistance as long as it is needed.
Since the beginning of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Western countries have provided comprehensive support to Kiev and, on the other hand, have imposed extensive sanctions against Moscow.
