Zelensky sanctioned 198 Russian and Ukrainian citizens.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, issued an order to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to sanction 198 prominent Russian figures and 3 Ukrainian citizens.
Most of these people added to Ukraine’s sanctions list against Russia are journalists, filmmakers, or TV presenters. Andrey Konchalovsky, the director, Angelina Vuk, the TV presenter and Rodion Miroshnik, the former ambassador of the Luhansk People’s Republic in Russia, are among these people.
These sanctions will be applied for a period of ten years and include the freezing of accounts, the suspension of economic and financial debts, the suspension of cultural exchanges and cooperation, the ban on entering Ukraine, and the cancellation of Ukrainian government awards.
Earlier, on January 7, the Ukrainian government sanctioned 117 Russian cultural and artistic figures.
