Zelensky: Russia must pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s president said in a statement on Tuesday that the cost of rebuilding Ukraine was estimated at $ 600 billion and that Russia would have to pay for the reconstruction.
“According to current estimates, the cost of Ukraine’s reconstruction will be $ 600 billion,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky said Tuesday evening.
“Negotiations for a serious ceasefire will be possible when I can meet directly with Putin,” Zelinsky said.
“Our negotiating team will continue to hold talks with Russia and coordinate a meeting with Putin,” he said.
“We have not seen a ceasefire from Russia that continues to violate the agreement,” he added.
“Our goal is to restore the integrity of our territories, including the Crimean peninsula,” Zelensky said.
He also said that Russia should pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s devastated territories.
Russia’s Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky did not need a peace deal because peace was the end of his life.
“Zelinsky does not need any peace treaty,” Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel, referring to Kiev’s dependence on the West for continuing the war with Russia. “For him, peace is the end.”
He continued that Zelensky continues to crave arms and money from the West and imitates the concerns of the Ukrainian people.
“Zelensky will continue to beg for money and weapons from the West in the future, trying to prove that he is still in the game and that the hope of the world is free, and that it is the last refuge of European democracy in Europe,” he said. “It’s a bear with a cotton jacket wanting to tear it.”
