A member of the negotiating team of the Yemeni National Salvation Government explained: “This kind of so-called transfer of power is a violation of the constitution in all its details and has no basis in the constitution or even in the Persian Gulf initiative.” Moreover, this transfer of power [and the formation of something called the Presidential Council] is widely acknowledged under pressure and reluctance.
“We know that if Riyadh recognizes ISIL, you will even recognize it, but we do not want to hear from you about the legitimacy or decisions of the Security Council,” he told the international community.
On the morning of Thursday (April 7th), fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who according to some media sources is under house arrest by the Saudi regime, in Riyadh fired his deputy “Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar” and handed over his power to an institution called the Council. The Office of the President announced that it had no foreign presence before or even that its formation had no basis in the Yemeni constitution.
He announced that the council, chaired by Rashad Mohammad Al-Alimi and with seven other members, would take over all the powers of the presidency and its deputy.
