Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights: 8 thousand children have been killed during the war.
The spokesman of Yemen’s Ministry of Human Rights said that children suffered the most damage during the Saudi coalition’s invasion of Yemen.
“Arif Al-Amiri”, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Human Rights of the National Salvation Government of Yemen (based in Sana’a) announced today (Monday) in an interview about eight thousand children who died during the eight years of war.
He told Al-Malouma website that Yemeni children are living in very difficult physical and mental conditions, lack of health, murder, displacement, asylum and violation of all their rights due to the siege of Yemen have imposed these conditions on them.
Arif Al-Ameri added: “The United Nations has no obligation to support the rights of Yemeni children. More than eight thousand children have been killed since the beginning of the American, Saudi and Emirati aggression against Yemen.”
At the same time, Abdullah al-Suwaidi, the adviser to the Ministry of Transportation of Yemen, also told Al-Malouma that as a result of the attacks of the Saudi coalition in the last eight years, more than six billion dollars have been damaged to Yemen’s land, sea and air transportation infrastructure.
The legal organization “Antsaf”, which is active in the field of Yemeni women and children’s rights, also announced on the 9th of Khordad in a report that five thousand Yemeni women were killed and wounded during the eight years of war.
According to Antsaf, one Yemeni woman and six children die every two hours due to lack of access to health care and services due to pregnancy or childbirth complications. Meanwhile, more than one million and five hundred thousand Yemeni pregnant or lactating women suffer from malnutrition.
In this regard, according to human rights organizations, more than 80 babies die every day due to the use of internationally prohibited weapons. This issue is one of the reasons for the increase in the number of premature babies. In such a way that 39% of Yemeni babies are born prematurely every year; It means one million and 120 thousand babies.
