Al-Akhbar reports that the Yemeni army broke the second defense line of the Saudi coalition in Marib.
After advancing to the capital of Ma’rib province two weeks ago and capturing the defensive lines of the coalition forces and the resigned Yemeni government, the Yemeni Army and the People’s Committees have now succeeded in breaking the new and second defensive lines of these forces as well.
According to Al-Alam, quoting Al-Akhbar, with the fall of the first line of defense in the suburbs of Ma’rib, the forces of the resigned government of “Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi” have started to create a new line of defense that started from “Albas” heights and around “Al-Masaryeh” in western Ma’rib. And extends to the “El Mill” area in the northeast of the city. However, the new line of defense of the Hadi forces did not last long against the attacks of the Yemeni army and popular committees, and these forces were able to besiege the Al-Hudha heights and take full control of Al-Tuma Al-Aliya.
The Yemeni army and popular committees have also succeeded in clearing the new line of defense of the coalition and Hadi forces in several areas, and as a result of these developments, the militias affiliated with the Saudi-Emirati coalition have established another line of defense for the second time in two weeks.
Local sources said coalition forces had installed military bulldozers in the area to build a line of defense around the western and northwestern neighborhoods of Ma’rib, as well as along areas near Elmil, around the Istanbul Hotel, 3 km away. The northwestern neighborhoods of Ma’rib and the headquarters of the Third Military District dug large trenches.
According to the report, the third defensive line to the west of Al-Hayaeh Hospital extends near the Al-Jafina neighborhood in the west of Ma’rib, and the forces of the resigned government of Mansour Hadi have built large embankments in the west of the third command area from the northwest of Ma’rib.
In fact, building a third line of defense after building a second line means expanding the scope of the battle toward the city. On the other hand, Sanaa forces deployed military equipment on the Al-Balq al-Qabli front and attacked the positions of the resigned government forces, which are supported by Salafi al-Islah militants and elements of the al-Qaeda terrorist group in the Al-Arilat area.
