Yemen running out of kidney failure medicines.
According to al-Masirah, Morteza al-Mortaza, the head of international affairs of the Ministry of Health of the Government of National Salvation of Yemen, announced: Medicines related to kidney failure in the warehouses of the Ministry of Health are on the verge of running out at the end of this year.
He added: We brought the matter to the attention of the United Nations months ago and emphasized the need to supply drugs for kidney failure in 2023, but we faced delays.
This official of the National Salvation Government of Yemen emphasized: 4150 kidney patients are at risk of certain death if the medicine runs out and the dialysis sessions are stopped.
He emphasized: Due to the blockade of Sana’a airport and Hodeidah port, it is not possible to import medicine and we are turning to international organizations.
Meanwhile, the National Salvation Government of Yemen has demanded the supply of kidney drugs since January 2022 and warned about its depletion.
