The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, in response to a letter from him, emphasizing China’s support for the Palestinian cause until its legitimate rights are restored, especially in international circles. .
The Chinese president wrote in his letter that the Palestinian issue is a fundamental issue in the West Asian region and will not see real peace in the region until it is resolved.
He added: “It is appropriate for the international community to be committed to the principle of land against peace, the two-state solution and the move towards the creation of an independent and pro-Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its center.”
Xi Jinping continued that the parties concerned, especially the countries influencing the Palestinian issue, should take a fair stand to urge the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume talks as soon as possible.
He added that China supports Mahmoud Abbas’s plan to hold a UN-sponsored international peace conference with the participation of permanent members of the Security Council as well as other stakeholders in the West Asian peace process.
Xi Jinping concluded by emphasizing that China will remain a friend of the Palestinian people and will continue to support it on the path to an independent state. China also wants to strengthen Sino-Palestinian relations and deepen cooperation in all common areas.
Abbas recently called on US to implement agreements with Tel Aviv to revive compromise.
