World Health Organization: 167 babies die every day in Afghanistan.
According to the President news agency, the World Health Organization announced in a statement: 167 babies die due to preventable factors in Afghanistan.
In the statement issued by the World Health Organization, it is claimed in this regard: We must act quickly to save lives and improve the health of mothers and children!
The statement states that the impact of severe food insecurity in Afghanistan is devastating, with 20 million people in the country at risk of malnutrition and infectious diseases.
According to the President’s News Agency, it is currently said that half of the population of Afghanistan is facing hunger and 28 million people need humanitarian aid.
The organization emphasized that about 6 million people in Afghanistan are facing emergency levels of food insecurity and are one step away from famine.
This is despite the fact that after the Taliban group came to power in Afghanistan on August 15 of last year and stopped foreign aid, this country has witnessed an increase in unemployment and poverty and the value of the national currency has also decreased drastically.
On the other hand, the United States has also blocked 7 billion dollars of foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan as part of the sanctions against the Taliban. UN human rights experts asked the US government to release the blocked assets of Afghanistan.
It should be noted that Afghanistan is now struggling with many problems after 2 decades of occupation by foreign forces led by American terrorists.
