According to Al-Diar newspaper, information from sources familiar with the case of the formation of the government in Lebanon shows that all the positive signals that existed at the end of last week for the formation of the cabinet in this country have disappeared in the past few hours.
The sources reported that the incumbent Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, despite all the efforts of his team to form a cabinet, is closer to resigning than forming a government!
According to the sources, the leaked information shows that Najib Mikati was planning to resign after a recent meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at the Presidential Palace, but the French convinced him that his resignation meant staying in the country. In an infinite hell; Because there is no replacement for him at the moment and the former prime ministers have decided not to nominate anyone else.
Sources in the Lebanese National Free Movement, led by Gibran Basil, also reported that everything had returned to normal and that there was a possibility that the scenario of the resignation of Saad Hariri, the head of the Future Movement, regarding Najib Mikati would be repeated. Once again, the former prime ministers have decided to disrupt the process of forming a government, with the exception that Saad Hariri publicly stated his irrational conditions for the structure of the government, which led to his resignation; But here Najib Mikati does it diplomatically. But in the end we come to the same conclusion that we reached with Saad Hariri. No government will be formed until the situation is like this.
On the other hand, one of the former Lebanese prime ministers, who did not want to be named, told Al-Diar newspaper that about a month after Mikati’s appointment as caretaker prime minister, we came to the conclusion that Michel Aoun and Gibran Basil did not give what Saad Hariri did. They will not give Mikati either.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah, far from the general situation of the case of forming a government, continues to insist on speeding up the completion of this case and has not even announced the names of its ministers and has left the task of electing its two ministers to Najib Mikati to disrupt the cabinet formation process.
News sources also reported that, contrary to some statements made by former prime ministers, it was important for the president to reach an agreement with Najib Mikati in a way that would satisfy him and that he would never seek his resignation.

On the other hand, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul Gheit, in a press conference before his trip to Iraq to participate in the Baghdad meeting held yesterday, stressed the Arab League’s solidarity with Lebanon and the support of the Lebanese people. I listened to Najib Mikati’s request to the Arab League to continue supporting Lebanon, and I had already contacted him and wished him success in forming a government.
The Arab League Secretary General also stressed the need to speed up the formation of the Lebanese government, saying that the implementation of reforms after the formation of the cabinet in Lebanon will enable the Arab and international community to participate effectively in saving Lebanon.
The Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister tweeted yesterday in response to the Baghdad meeting in support of Iraq: “The Lebanese people hope to be noticed by the leaders and friends who will gather in Iraq. Iraq is a country whose nation has faced challenges and tact.” The government was able to regain its privileged role at the Arab and international level.
