A White House spokesman claimed that the United States was not involved in the Natanz incident and its focus was on the Vienna talks.
White House spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki told a news conference Monday that the United States had no role in the Natanz incident.
“We have seen reports of an incident at the Natanz enrichment center. We have not been involved in any attack on the Natanz nuclear facility,” Psaki told a news conference.
Yesterday, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced the occurrence of an accident in a part of the electricity distribution network of the Natanz enrichment facility.
Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization, said in response to the incident in a part of the electricity distribution network of Natanz enrichment facility:
“The nuclear industry, on the one hand, and successful negotiations to lift oppressive sanctions.”
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told reporters at a weekly news conference today: It was behind this story. “Iran’s response is revenge against this regime in its own time and place.”
A White House spokesman told a meeting Tuesday evening, the US government was focusing on the Vienna talks. “We have no speculation about the effects of this event (the Natanz incident) and its cause,” she said. “We are focusing on the talks we expect to take place in Vienna this Wednesday.”
“We expect these talks to be long and difficult. There is no sign of a change in the participants,” a White House spokeswoman said.
