West gives the green signal to attack Russia.
According to Rashatody, Mikhail Podoliak, a senior adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, says that the country’s western backers now have “complete consensus” for Kyiv to attack the Russian-controlled parts that Ukraine claims.
“Let me remind you that a year ago, even when there were sporadic attacks against Crimea, everyone was saying, ‘No, no, give up Crimea,'” Podoliak said.
He added: But today, the general consensus among the countries that support us is that we are allowed to destroy everything that belongs to Russia in the occupied territories.
Advisor Zelensky is referring to the lands under the control of Russia, which Ukraine still claims, including the Crimean peninsula, which was separated from the territory of Ukraine after the so-called “Maidan” coup in 2014 in Kyiv, by holding a referendum. and joined Russia. Four other regions, including Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk, joined Russia last year after holding a referendum.
Podoliak did not clarify which country among Kiyv’s Western supporters was against Ukraine’s invasion of the mentioned areas, as none of them actually recognized these areas as Russian territory.
The senior Ukrainian official also pledged to step up attacks on other areas located on Russian soil but declined to confirm whether Ukraine would take responsibility for future attacks. According to him, “the territories will only be the target of unknown drone attacks.”
He added: that UAV attacks will be used on territories located in Russian territory. Let me remind you that currently, the official position is; “There will be drones of an unknown nature, and of course, their number will increase.”
During the Russian military operation in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, Kyiv has repeatedly targeted Russian territory with drone and missile attacks and has occasionally targeted Russian territory with an artillery bombardment.
Although the border cities of Russia, including Belgorod and Kursk, have suffered the most damage, Ukraine has targeted Moscow, the capital of Russia, with long-range drones several times in recent months. Moscow has explicitly described these attacks as “terrorist attacks” that exclusively target civilians.
