Washington sends $ 300 million in security aid to Ukraine.
A Pentagon spokesman announced new multimillion-dollar security assistance to Ukraine, saying the package would include guided missile systems and attack drones.
As the Ukraine crisis and Russia’s special military operations in the country enter their 30th day, the United States and Western nations continue to fan the flames of war in Eastern Europe.
The US Department of Defense announced this morning (Saturday) that it would provide $ 300 million more in security assistance to Kiev, continuing its military support to Ukraine aimed at undermining Russia’s national security.
According to Reuters, the huge security assistance will include laser-guided missile systems, attack drones and satellite imaging equipment.
“This announcement marks the beginning of the contract process for providing new military capabilities to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, US President Joe Biden announced in an interview with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelinsky that $ 500 million had been allocated to the country’s public budget.
Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24. Putin called the operation “to support those who have been bullied and genocided by the Kiev regime for eight years.” According to him, for this purpose, it is planned to “disarm and demilitarize Ukraine” so that all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in the Donbass region are brought to justice.
The Russian Defense Ministry has also said that the armed forces will only attack Ukrainian military infrastructure and forces, and that no part of the civilian population will be threatened.
