Washington Post: Bin Salman threatened America with economic sanctions. Bin Salman dropped bomb of a critical threat on the US.
The Washington Post announced today that it has obtained a confidential document, according to which the Saudi crown prince has threatened to impose strict economic measures against the United States of America and will no longer go along with Washington’s political approach in the region.
According to this report, Mohammed bin Salman has threatened to use the weapon of sanctions against American interests if US President Joe Biden implements threats against Riyadh in the context of reducing its oil production.
The Washington Post has announced that this confidential document belongs to the US intelligence services, which states that Bin Salman has implicitly threatened Washington to cut ties and take strict and reciprocal economic measures in response to Biden’s threats to reduce Saudi oil production.
Accordingly, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, while insisting on his decision to reduce oil production, has put the option of changing the relationship between Riyadh and Washington on the table of the American government, as a result of which Biden will suffer a lot of economic costs.
The Washington Post further stated that eight months have passed since Saudi Arabia’s decision to reduce oil production, the US government has not taken any decision against Riyadh, and Bin Salman’s relations with senior US officials, such as the recent visit of the US Secretary of State to Saudi Arabia, are still ongoing.
This newspaper, of course, pointed out that it is not yet clear whether this threat was transmitted directly to the US government, or whether it was obtained from electronic listening devices.
