According to al-Masira, the Yemeni army and popular committees have recently targeted the depth of Saudi positions in the country. The operation is said to have targeted vital Saudi facilities.
According to the report, last night, the Yemenis announced a large-scale operation against Saudi positions in the border town of Jizan. However, the Saudis claimed to have intercepted the missiles fired by the Yemeni army.
Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sari is scheduled to hold a press conference this evening to reveal the details of an operation to target Saudi Arabia’s vital facilities deep inside the country.
Saudi sources say this is the first time that the Yemeni army has announced the details of the operation just hours before the operation.
Meanwhile, the Saudi coalition this morning approved a large-scale offensive in southern Saudi Arabia. However, it claimed to have intercepted four suicide drones and a ballistic missile fired at the Jazan area.
The Yemeni army has always insisted that it will continue its legitimate attacks on military targets in Saudi Arabia as long as the siege and attacks by the Saudi coalition against Yemeni territory continue.
A coalition led by Saudi Arabia has been targeting Yemen since April 2015 to restore power to ousted Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi in heavy air, land and sea attacks.
