Use of French drones to assassinate the Iraqi Prime Minister.
An Iraqi security expert said the drones used in the attack were made in France after a failed attempt by unknown individuals to assassinate the Iraqi prime minister.
Kazem al-Hajj, a security and political affairs expert, gave details to drones that recently targeted the house of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in an interview with the Iraqi network Tigris on Thursday evening.
Referring to the characteristics of the drone and its power to carry rockets, the Iraqi expert said that the drones were made in France, according to Nano News, quoting the Tigris network.
“The drones flew from an American base near al-Kadhimi’s house.”
The remarks came as Iraqi media reported on Sunday morning that gunfire and explosions had been heard in Baghdad’s Green Zone and that Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s home had been targeted.
The Iraqi Interior Ministry later announced that three drones had been used to assassinate Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi. Brigadier General Saad Maan, director of public relations and information at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, called the move “terrorist” and “rejected.”
