US troops enter Polish territory.
Reuters reports that the first group of US troops has entered Polish territory in neighboring Ukraine.
As Western countries continued to speculate about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reported that US troops had entered Poland in Ukraine’s neighborhood.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the strengthening of its allies in Eastern Europe and the Pentagon’s plan to send thousands of US troops to Poland, Romania and Germany.
Russia has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s foreign policy have been made more than once.
According to the report, the Pentagon has announced that 1,700 US troops from the 82nd Airborne Brigade of the US Army will be sent to Poland at the Fort Bragg base in North Carolina.
Reuters added that the brigade commanders arrived in Poland on Saturday with several aircraft carrying military equipment, and that US troops landed in C-17 on Sunday at Rzeszow Jasinka Airport.
It is not yet known how many US troops have entered Poland, but it is said that the C-17 could carry 102 airborne troops and equipment.
“This is the first group of American troops to arrive in the country, and more planes will arrive in the coming hours, with a mission in southeastern Poland,” said Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszak.
