US Senator; Washington is the biggest source of lies in the world.
A U.S. senator has criticized the Department of Homeland Security’s plan to set up a new counter-intelligence agency, saying the US government itself is the largest source of misinformation in the world.
The decision of the US Department of Homeland Security to form a new organization to deal with the dissemination of misinformation has been widely criticized in US political circles.
Many members of Congress have called the formation of such an organization a threat to freedom of expression in the United States. In this regard, the US Senate hearing was held last Wednesday in the presence of “Alejandro Majorcas”, the US Secretary of Homeland Security.
Rand Powell, a senior U.S. senator who is a staunch opponent of the new organization, slammed Majorca for doing so, saying: “We do not want the Biden administration to comment on our statements and speeches. “We can not even agree on what is incorrect and manipulated information,” he said.
Defending the proposal, Alejandro Majorcas told Powell: “What the group is doing is to have fences, definitions and standards to ensure that freedom of expression, civil rights, civil liberties and privacy are not violated.
Rand Powell sharply attacked Mallorca’s remarks; We do not want a fence, and we ask that you do not have to say anything. Do you think Americans are so stupid that they need you to tell them the truth? I do not trust the government to understand the facts from their language. The government (US) itself is the largest disseminator of false information.
The US senator went on to call the Washington administration the largest source of misinformation in the world.
Rand Powell added: “Do you know McNamara?” Are you familiar with Pentagon documents? Do you know George W. Bush and the weapons of mass destruction? Are you familiar with Iran-Contra?
Powell refers to the Bush administration’s scandal of lying about the weapons of mass destruction of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s regime, which launched the US-British invasion of the country and caused great disaster for the Iraqi people in the region.
