The Moscow embassy reacted strongly to the US senator’s remarks about the assassination of the Russian president.
Following the remarks of US Senator Lindsey Graham about the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Moscow Embassy in Washington reacted strongly and condemned the remarks.
According to Al-Arabiya, Graham made a bizarre statement on Thursday in response to Russia’s military operation in Ukraine that someone in Russia should assassinate Putin.
In an interview with Fox News, he added: “How (this war) will end?” When someone in Russia comes forward and removes this (Putin).
He also reiterated his request on his Twitter account and wrote to the Russian people; You have to do something for your country and the world will appreciate your services.
The Russian embassy in the United States responded to the remarks by saying; We strongly condemn Senator Lindsey Graham’s request and call for a formal explanation from Washington.
“Foreign mercenaries are fighting alongside Ukrainian troops against Russian forces,” he said, referring to the US role in the Ukraine crisis. Putin also said that the Ukrainians had been “threatened and brainwashed” and that Russia was currently fighting “neo-Nazism” in the country.
