The United States has destroyed the air and defense capabilities of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, according to documents released by the National Salvation Government on Friday.
Yemen’s Al-Masira network released documents in its second revealing documentary about the role of US intelligence and the embassy in Sanaa in destroying these capabilities, which was released on Friday night.
According to the documents and audio files published in this documentary, the US State Department has repeatedly sent its special envoy for Yemen, Lincoln Bloomfield, with the aim of destroying portable missile defense systems.
The program unveiled a State Department document dated September 25, 2004, indicating that Ali Abdullah Saleh had promptly ordered the signing of an agreement to destroy defense systems.
The State Department document begins with the title: “Transfer and Destruction of 1,435 Air Defense Systems for $ 7.17 Million”
Al-Masira released another confidential document from the Yemeni National Security Service on 8/16/2005, which shows that the ousted president had a meeting with the US ambassador to Sanaa, Thomas Graksi, and the head of the CIA in Yemen.
In another document released on March 8, 2008, the Yemeni National Security Agency ordered the disarmament of surface-to-air missiles between March 16 and 19, ahead of Bloomfide’s trip to Sanaa.
The document states that the purpose of the US special envoy’s visit to Yemen was to hold official meetings to discuss ways to work together to eliminate the threat posed by surface-to-air missiles.
Another document dated May 31, 2012, owned by the Yemeni National Security Service, states that the service emphasizes the continued destruction of air defense systems in the shower under the pretext of their possibility of entering the market.
Another document from the Yemeni National Security Service on April 20, 2014, shows that a truck carrying sterile missiles was destroyed at a special forces barracks in Al-Sabah.
“During his tenure as commander of the 122nd Infantry Brigade in Saada Governorate, all commanders were asked to collect all Sam missiles and send them to the Ministry of Defense,” said Brigadier General Mohammed al-Muqaddad, chief of staff at the Yemeni Ministry of Defense. Because they were told, “Politics requires it.”
“The [Yemeni] armed forces had short, medium, and long-range missiles that were destroyed by the Americans by handing over control of the country to the former US ambassador to Yemen,” he added.
The military official also said that Saudi Arabia was trying to collect weapons made by the eastern countries of the army in exchange for replacing them with the weapons of the western countries.
Another commander, Col. Saleh Ghanbour, said in the documentary that he was shocked to learn that the US embassy was aware of much of Yemen’s military secrets at the time; That the United States has long had a plan to destroy Yemen’s air capabilities and has implemented it step by step.
Al-Masira also released confidential documents this week on contacts between former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
These documents show the greed of the United States in Yemen and the complete submission of the government of Ali Abdullah Saleh.
