The US Department of Commerce has imposed sanctions on 34 companies in connection with Russia, Iran and China.
The US Commerce Department said in a statement on Friday that it had added 34 companies and entities related to Iran, Russia and China to its blacklist for economic cooperation.
According to the statement, the US Department of Commerce has blacklisted 14 Chinese companies on the pretext of so-called “human rights violations in Xinjiang Province”, as well as six Chinese companies accused of trying to transfer US technology to China is blacklisted by the US Department of Commerce for use in the military industry.
Meanwhile, eight companies and institutions were blacklisted on charges of “facilitating the export of US items to Iran in violation of the US Export Office or selling these items to companies on the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions list.” US companies have been added to the list, and six companies have been added to the list for allegedly selling electronic components that could be used to “advance Russia’s military programs.”
The Commerce Department has stated that the 34 companies and entities are involved in activities that threaten US foreign policy, national security, and values, or that they may play a role in such activities in the future.
