The United States has demanded an explanation for Israel’s use of spyware.
The administration of US President Joe Biden, while criticizing the Zionist regime for producing and selling Pegasus spy software, demanded that the regime explain about this software.
Brett McGurk, a senior Biden government official, raised the issue of Pegasus spy software made by NSO technology company and US concern about the software during a meeting last week with Zohar Palti, an official at the Israeli Defense Ministry.
“The Zionist official has assured McGurk that the Zionist regime is taking this issue seriously and is seeking to restrict the export of spy weapons such as Pegasus,” Sputnik quoted the Action and Washington Post as saying.
In Hungary, lawmakers called for an investigation into reports that Prime Minister Victor Urban’s government had bought Pegasus spyware to spy on journalists, politicians and businessmen critical of the government.
The Pegasus spyware scandal erupted this week following the publication of a report by several global media outlets about the spyware infiltration into the cell phones of several political activists, journalists and political figures around the world.
A comprehensive investigation by more than 17 news organizations revealed that spy software called Pegasus, made by the Israeli technology company NSO, was used to spy on the cell phones of hundreds of journalists, political and social activists, as well as politicians around the world.
According to “CNBC”, one of the important personalities whose phone has been hacked by this spy software is the fiancée of Jamal Khashoggi, who was assassinated by the agents of the Saudi government in 2018.
