Mahmoud al-Rubaye, a member of the political bureau of Asaeb al-Ahl al-Haq in Iraq, stressed Monday that the Iraqi government’s position on US interference and violations in Iraq remains weak, Al-Maluma was quoted as saying.
He added that the Iraqi government had not taken a proper stance on US crimes against the Iraqi people and its commanders and military bases.
Al-Rubaye said the United States seeks to extend the presence of its forces in Iraq to fulfill its demands.
The US embassy in Baghdad moves to create chaos in Iraq
Meanwhile, members of the Iraqi parliament warned on Monday about the moves of Washington and its embassy in Baghdad and its efforts to create chaos in the country.
“The United States wants to continue the work of the current government because it is meeting its demands and moving inside Iraq in accordance with its demands and plans,” said Ahmed Ali, a spokesman for the Iraqi Fatah Coalition.
He added: “This is while the United States has a destructive role in destabilizing and creating problems.”
Hassan al-Kaabi, head of the Badr parliamentary faction in Iraq, also said that the United States and its agents inside Iraq were creating chaos and instability with the aim of delaying the early parliamentary elections in Iraq.
On the other hand, Amer Al-Fayez, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Iraqi Parliament, said: “The United States supports the current government and stays there for a longer period of time.” The United States is seeking to meet its demands by not holding the Iraqi parliamentary elections on time.
He also spoke about Turkey’s greed in Iraq: “Turkey is greedy for Iraq and its goal is to revive the Ottoman Empire.” Turkey’s presence in the Nineveh region has greatly affected the lives of Iraqi farmers, but the government does not pay attention to the farmers’ cries and treats them coldly.
“The impact of this process is not limited to Nineveh, it affects the whole of Iraq and it has many problems,” Fayez said.
Ghazi Kakai, a member of the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan, criticized the silence of the Iraqi government and the climate in the face of Turkish attacks on civilians, calling the attack on two Mosul tourists a crime against humanity.
He added: “Silence is shameful. The government’s disregard for the blood of the Iraqi people encourages Turkey to continue its crimes.
Warning about postponement of elections
“Iraq needs to hold elections next October in order to get out of the complex crisis and form a government capable of resolving the crisis,” said Minar Abdulmutallab, a member of the Iraqi parliament.
He added: “All efforts to postpone the election are a failure because the will of the people to hold it on time.”
Abdulmutallab said: “Any attempt to postpone the elections will have negative consequences.” There is dissatisfaction with the political, economic and security situation. Postponing the elections is not in Iraq’s interest and it puts it in a dark tunnel.
