US court rejects Riyadh’s lawsuit against former Saudi official / defeat for Bin Salman.
The United States has rejected a lawsuit filed by a Saudi state-owned company against a former Saudi intelligence official.
A US court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Saudi state-owned company against a former Saudi intelligence official, declaring that the case could not be considered due to the US government’s use of one of its powers to prevent the release of classified information.
According to Reuters, the ruling marks the defeat of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a legal dispute with Saad al-Jabri.
Saad al-Jabri, former Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, was a national security adviser at the Saudi Interior Ministry before bin Salman’s coup in June 2017.
Al-Jabri is said to be in possession of documents that could be used against Hussein, and the Saudi Crown Prince is seeking his extradition to Saudi Arabia.
The court ruling does not guarantee that the court will be able to rule in this case without using what the US government considers to be state secrets.
Similarly, the court refused to comment on al-Jabri’s counterclaim against the state-owned holding company Skop on the same pretext of not having access to confidential government documents.
Skap and nine Saudi companies have filed lawsuits alleging that al-Jabri led a $ 3.5 billion project that he embezzled from Benayev as an adviser.
In September of this year, US Director of National Intelligence April Hines intervened in an unexpected move to prevent the release of classified documents under the pretext of a judicial hearing.
