Criticizing US hypocrisy on human rights, the Syrian Foreign Ministry stressed that no country could compete with Washington in human rights abuses.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry rejected the US State Department’s annual report on the human rights situation in the world, stressing that Washington is the biggest human rights violator.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights issued a statement stating that, as usual, US reports contain lies and baseless allegations, and that such reports show racism and blatant interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the statement as saying that when the report is about countries such as Iran, Russia, Syria, China, and Venezuela whose policies the United States is not satisfied with, we see that its lies increase.
Syria stressed that the US claims in the report on Syria are taken from the reports of terrorist groups and supporters in the region and the world, but the report does not publish any information about US crimes.
“The United States is the biggest violator of human rights inside and outside its borders,” he said.
According to the statement, the US claim that human rights are its foreign policy priority is the culmination of hypocrisy; Because the Syrian people are facing many problems in food and medicine due to the economic and inhumane sanctions of the United States.
“The main catastrophe is US-backed terrorism,” Damascus said, noting that Washington is currently looting Syria’s oil and wheat, these reports are against countries that are not in line with its policies.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry concluded by emphasizing that Syria has repeatedly stated its opposition to using the issue of human rights to achieve political goals and that a country that does not have a good record of human rights abuses should not speak out.
