The White House says the United States and Israel have agreed to set up a joint task force to deal with Iranian drones and missiles.
A statement from the White House stated that “Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, and his Israeli counterpart, Meir bin Shabbat, met at the Israeli embassy in Washington.” US and Israeli officials have agreed to form a working group to deal with Iranian drones and missiles”
“US and Israeli officials have described Iran’s conduct in the region as a ‘major threat,'” the White House statement said.
“The two sides should establish a joint working group to focus on the growing threat posed by Iranian drones and surface-to-air missiles to its representatives in the Middle East,” the White House said.
The statement added that the US side also briefed the Israeli side on the Vienna talks and said that Washington was willing to involve Israel in the nuclear talks through close consultations.
Meanwhile, White House spokesman Jen Psaki said Tuesday night that Robert Mali, the US government’s special envoy for Iran, “has left for the Middle East to further consult on Iran.”
“I think Robert Mali is going to the region or is there now to take part in another round of talks,” Psaki added.
