Al-Masira wrote in a report that the United States and Saudi Arabia sought to extend the term of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for dancing on the bodies of Yemeni children and ignoring their burnt bodies as a result of coalition attacks. Saudi Arabia, which continues to sacrifice Yemeni children on a daily basis, has achieved its goal.
In fact, the experiences of people who have suffered from arrogant countries, such as the people of Palestine, Iraq, Libya, and other countries, prove that helping the oppressed has no place in the UN dictionary.
The UN Secretary-General has ignored all the condemnations of the US-Saudi coalition, which blames them for killing civilians, especially children, and acquitted the Saudi coalition after taking its share.
Al-Masira said: “Over the years, the United Nations has collected the crimes committed by the Saudi coalition against our country. If we collect them, we will face wonders, but it seems that the money that has reached its gutter has closed its eyes.” And has caused him to remain silent about crimes against children in Yemen.
“This decision is not surprising because the United Nations has ignored many nations and Palestine is at the top,” said Ali al-Dulaimi, a Sanaa Ministry of Human Rights official. The coalition was blacklisted for human rights abuses, and Sanaa called for practical action against the coalition but was suddenly removed from the list for the first time in 2016 and then completely removed from the list in 2021.
He added: “In that year, after intense Saudi pressure on former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, he said in a sad press conference that he had removed Saudi Arabia from the list in order not to cut off aid.” These had bad consequences for the children of Yemen, and the Saudi coalition committed horrible crimes in our country, and the fate of Yemeni women and children no longer matters to it, because it has realized that these crimes are committed in front of the world and no one reacts.
Al-Dulaimi called on the UN Secretary-General to refer to reports from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as reports from international organizations, to find out about the US and Saudi crimes against the Yemeni people.
He added: “After the election of the Secretary-General, Ansarullah was included in the blacklist of human rights violators.” The National Salvation Government should have been on the list, and the fact that Ansarullah was on the list shows that the United Nations is not neutral and that it is moving in the direction of the demands of the Saudi coalition.
“The United Nations is responsible for everything that happens to Yemeni children in the future,” al-Dulaimi said. This is a completely political decision and it is a complete scandal. The problem is that this organization prioritizes the interests of imperialism over the interests of poor nations, and this calls for a review of UN mechanisms and for respect for treaties and human rights.
He stressed: The fugitive government, which considers itself the representative of the Yemeni people in international circles, aligns with the enemy and does not defend Yemen. The Yemeni people are paying attention to Islamic and neutral organizations and will pay attention to all human rights activists to expose these crimes.
“The United Nations has been kidnapped by the great powers,” said Talat al-Sharjabi, a spokesman for the Yemeni High Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. These powers have dominance, influence, and hegemony over the United Nations. The decisions and institutions of this organization serve the will of the owners of gold and power.
He added: “What the UN is doing is against the principle of neutrality and professionalism and is not compatible with its principles.” The United Nations has double standards and takes into account the wishes and interests of those countries. The United Nations is looking for money.
Al-Sharjabi said: “Unfortunately, the current UN Secretary-General Guterres and his predecessor Ban Ki-moon have become inefficient and have double standards and are far from neutral and act on undocumented facts.”
He cited Guttierez’s disregard for dozens of reports from international organizations blaming the coalition for killing Yemeni children as a result of airstrikes and ground attacks on civilians in border areas, as well as millions of children as a result of continuing war, siege, and malnutrition. “According to the World Food Program, half of the children this year, i.e 2.3 million children under the age of five, are at risk of malnutrition,” he said.
