According to a senior government official, the Ukrainian government expects to receive $12-16 billion in aid from its Western allies by the end of this year.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal said on Tuesday that Kiev expects to receive another $12-16 billion in foreign aid from its partners by the end of this year.
He stated in a statement that Ukraine was able to maintain its financial stability thanks to the foreign aid it received; Reuters news agency wrote that the amount of foreign aid granted to Ukraine has reached 14 billion dollars, but Kiev has been forced to spend 40% of its budget expenditures ($11.51 billion) on military equipment.
Schmihal continued, Ukraine spent 288 billion hryvnias (about seven billion and 800 million dollars) to pay the salaries of the military and 135 billion hryvnias (three billion and 655 million dollars) to buy and repair military equipment and purchase ammunition and military products from 24 February has so far.
