The UAE will officially open its embassy in occupied Palestine on Wednesday, Sputnik news agency reported.
The Times of Israel reported that the United Arab Emirates will open its embassy in the occupied territories on Wednesday in the presence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
According to Sputnik, the Tel Aviv diplomatic mission has started in the UAE since January 2021, and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid officially inaugurated the consulate in Abu Dhabi late last month.
The UAE is one of the Arab countries that established official relations with the Zionist regime, despite the opposition of the public opinion of the Arab world and the violation of the rights of the Palestinians.
The signing ceremony of the normalization agreement between the UAE and the Zionist regime was held on September 15, 2020, hosted by the White House. Under the agreement, the UAE pledged to establish diplomatic, trade and economic relations with the Zionist regime. The UAE embassy in Tel Aviv was previously scheduled to open in January.
The UAE embassy is set to officially open on Wednesday as Abu Dhabi’s ambassador to Tel Aviv, Mohammed al-Khawaja, has been stationed in occupied Palestine since March 1st.
