Twitter blocks account of Putin’s supporters.
NBC News has blocked more than 100 Twitter accounts that repeatedly reposted the hashtag #IstandWithPutin earlier this week amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
A Twitter spokesman said the company was still investigating the people behind the accounts.
Since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched military operations in Ukraine last week, major US technology platforms and social media companies, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Reddit, have restricted access to Russian state media platforms.
In response, US companies blocked access to Facebook and Twitter.
Earlier, Facebook and Instagram blocked global access to Russia’s two state-owned media outlets, Rasha Today and Sputnik, in the continent and, of course, in the United Kingdom, at the request of the European Union and under sanctions. Led to react to these decisions.
