Twitter blocked a US congresswoman’s account permanently.
Twitter announced on Sunday that it had permanently blocked the personal account of Marjorie Taylor Green, a Republican in the US Congress, for tweets that repeatedly violate the “social media misinformation about Corona” policy.
The congresswoman from Georgia is the first member of Congress whose Twitter account has been blocked forever, according to Reuters.
Twitter had previously suspended Green’s account over tweets about Quid calling it “misleading.” The accounts of at least two other Republicans on Twitter have also been suspended – Jim Banks and Barry Moore.
“Twitter is the enemy of the United States and it cannot manage the truth,” Green said in a statement to Telegram. He added that social media platforms could not stop the spread of the truth. Great technology cannot stop the truth. Communist democrats cannot stop the truth.
The congresswoman’s official Twitter account is still active and has 390,000 followers, which is slightly less than the 465,000 followers on his blocked personal account.
Green has previously been criticized for his remarks about the epidemic. Last June, he apologized after comparing the requirements for wearing a corona mask and vaccination with the Holocaust.
Last January, Twitter temporarily blocked Green’s account after he argued with a state election official over allegations of voter fraud.
