According to the report of “Russia Elium” news site and quoted by “Zaman” newspaper of Turkey, while refusing to talk about the candidate of the six opposition parties, Altai said: “I cannot talk about the final candidate of the opposition parties, but I announce that the candidate of our party is Kamal Qalicdar.” Oglu will be the chairman of the People’s Republican Party.
Altai, who raised this issue during a television interview, asked the current president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to hold early elections in this country.
At the same time, the six-party opposition coalition refuses to introduce their final option to compete with Erdogan, despite the Turkish president’s express request to announce their joint candidate; According to the opposition, this refusal to introduce is due to the fear of being targeted or even arrested for the joint candidate of the opposition coalition.
Earlier, the former Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu announced that he formed a coalition of six opposition parties and announced that he will be a candidate in the 2023 presidential election.
Davutoğlu is one of Erdoğan’s old companions and was his advisor at one point. He was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and once the leader of the Justice and Development Party, but in 2019, he separated from Erdogan and formed a new party.
