Studies of recent unrest in Kazakhstan show that some regional countries, including Turkey, and trans-regional countries, including the United States, have worked together to destabilize Russia’s southern front.
Protests in Kazakhstan began on January 14 following a rise in gas prices, although Kazakh officials reduced gas prices to 24 hours later and returned to the previous level, but the protests escalated into clashes with security forces.
