Tunisia firmly stands against the normalization of relations with the Zionist enemy.
According to Sputnik, “Sami Al-Tahari”, the official spokesman of the Tunisian trade union, emphasized that since a long time, there have been extensive efforts for the Zionists to infiltrate Tunisia.
He added: Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, the former president of Tunisia, established an office in this country and another office in Tel Aviv, but it remained in the same form and no other action was taken. After the revolution in Tunisia and the weak performance of the government institutions, we witnessed the abuse of the created gaps to establish commercial and cultural relations between this country and the Zionist regime.
Al-Tahari continued: “At this time, we witnessed some Tunisian artists traveling to the occupied lands and holding celebrations in this area, as well as commercial relations with Zionist merchants.” All these efforts are useless because the Tunisian nation is against the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime and wants to return the rights of the Palestinian nation to them.
He clarified: If the Tunisian nation is pressured to accept the normalization of relations, the people of this country will resist this process. Tunisian civil society and parties are fighting against these thoughts. The people of this country clearly differentiate between the Jews who live peacefully in Tunisia and the Zionists in the occupied territories.
On Sunday, the head of Algeria’s National Construction Party, Abdel Qadir bin Qureina, warned that Tunisia is moving towards normalizing relations with the Zionist regime. He further added: I hope the eyes of the country of Algeria will be open and it will see the sinister trips of some people to Tunisia to buy the votes of this country.
This is while the Tunisian Parliament announced a few days ago that the Rights and Freedoms Committee has started examining the bill to criminalize the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime.
The aforementioned committee has provided preliminary studies on the importance of this bill for the people of Tunisia and their unconditional support for the just cause of Palestine.
It is worth mentioning that in August 2022, the Tunisian Ministry of Commerce and Export Development announced its adherence to the sanctions against the Zionist regime in response to some claims regarding taking measures for trade exchanges with the occupying regime, according to the principles and foundations of the Arab League.
