Former US President Donald Trump has said he is launching a new social network called “Truth”, according to the Congressional Information Service.
According to the report, Trump has described his main goal in creating this new social network as competing with a liberal media consortium.
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is set to merge with another company to lead and manage this new social network.
Trump said in a statement: “We live in a world where the Taliban have a large presence on Twitter, but the beloved American president has silenced you.
He added: “I want to tell you the first truth, the Thruth Social social network will come soon. The purpose of founding this social network is to give everyone an equal voice. I am very excited to share my thoughts and ideas with you on this social network and to fight against the monopoly of technology giants.
The new social network is set to launch next month for guest users, and will be rolled out to all users in the first quarter of 2022.
