Trump’s acknowledges keeping secret documents about Iran.
Federal prosecutors have obtained audio from Trump in which he says he kept the classified Pentagon Papers on Iran after he left the White House, despite previously denying any allegations that he leaked classified government documents.
Federal prosecutors have audio of former US President Donald Trump from 2021 in which he admits he kept a classified Pentagon document about a “possible attack on Iran” after he left the White House.
CNN announced in its exclusive report that it did not listen to this audio, but pointed to numerous anonymous sources who talked about it. Reuters also said that it could not confirm this report.
According to the American CNN network, this audio shows that Trump, who is seeking the nomination of the Republican Party in the upcoming US presidential elections, realized that he kept secret information after leaving the White House in 2021.
Two sources cited by CNN said Trump’s comments showed he was willing to share information but was aware of the limits of his ability to declassify it.
However, Trump has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the classified documents, calling them politically motivated.
Steven Chong, Trump’s spokesman, said on Wednesday (May 31) that the information leak from the radical parties behind this political harassment is designed to inflame tensions and continue the media harassment of President Trump and his supporters.
