In an interview with Fox News, Trump said: Haley should not stick to her previous promises not to participate in the election if Trump is present.
Asked if Haley could challenge him for the 2024 Republican nomination, Trump said: “The more the merrier.”
Trump added: “I’m glad he’s running, I want him to follow his heart even though he has pledged never to run against someone he calls the greatest president of his lifetime.”
Trump also noted that recent polls by Democrats and Republicans show him as the favorite to win the Republican nomination.
He also said he’s not worried about possible competition from Republicans, including his former Vice President Mike Pence and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, as well as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
A new poll released Tuesday by Reuters/Ipsos found that Trump is the favorite candidate among Republican voters, with 43 percent of registered voters in that party saying they want him to be their nominee.
