The whistleblower of US classified documents was identified.
The Washington Post newspaper claimed that the main source and whistleblower of the secret documents of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), which caused confusion to the government and institutions of the US and its allies, has been identified.
This newspaper announced the identity of this person as “OG” and wrote that he is “a young man who loves guns and works at an American military base.”
A member of the online Discord group, who did not want to be named, told The Washington Post that “the whistleblower obtained these confidential documents from a military base where he had access to a secret storage location for classified information.”
According to the Washington Post, this whistleblower first published these documents in the online group “Discord” months ago in 2022, but the American government and security agencies found out about the publication of these confidential documents in March 2023; Discourse is a virtual gathering of young people brought together by their mutual love of “guns, military equipment, and God.”
The New York Times reported on Monday, citing US officials, that the disclosure of classified documents of the country’s defense ministry will complicate Washington’s relations with its allies.
These senior American officials, whose names were not mentioned by the New York Times, said, “There is no doubt that the disclosure of the Pentagon’s confidential documents will make America’s allies doubt Washington’s ability to keep secrets and confidential documents.”
